The music you select for your big day will determine how festive and exciting your wedding feels, and, by extension, how much fun your guests have. By thoughtfully selecting music for your entire wedding, from guest arrival to the final song, you will ensure that your guests have a fantastic time celebrating with you on your special day. The entertainment for your wedding reception is likely to come down to this choice: a band or DJ? This decision can be difficult and many of our clients ask for our guidance. To help you decide, we have compiled a list of the advantages of each type.
Lends a classier feel. A live band adds a sense of luxury and glamour to any formal affair.
Adds a ton of excitement. A great live band creates a high amount of energy and exuberance.
Translates to more people on the dance floor. Bands make dancing an activity that everyone wants to be included in, even if a guest doesn’t know the specific song.
Easy to sing and dance along. As DJs play the version of a song that your friends are familiar with, it may be easier for them to feel comfortable joining in on the dance floor.
Less expensive. A DJ is one to two people with relatively minimal equipment, making the average cost of a wedding DJ lower than a band.
Doesn’t take up much space. If your wedding venue is relatively small, a DJ may be the way to go.
We’ve planned fun events with live bands and DJs. We hope this list helps you select the option that will create your dream day.
